Complete composite deck build

The patio schedule changed. The deck plan adapted.

Freedom adjusted the footing work around a newly poured concrete pad, finished the transitions cleanly, and did not add the extra concrete adaptation work to the homeowner’s bill.

What the homeowner needed

Keep the deck moving without making the homeowner absorb a trade-schedule problem.

The homeowner was completing both a deck and a patio with separate contractors. The deck called for a brown composite surface, black composite railing, and aluminum spindles.

The patio schedule moved ahead before Freedom’s deck permit was ready. Once the new concrete was in place, the deck footings still had to be installed correctly and the finished patio needed to look intentional.

  1. 01
    A complete Brown Oak deck

The material and railing combination needed to create a finished, coordinated outdoor space.

  2. 02
    Clear communication

The homeowner wanted the process explained and updates carried from permit approval through the final walkthrough timeline.

  3. 03
    Coordination around another trade

The deck plan had to respond to the patio contractor’s schedule without leaving the homeowner between two companies.

How Freedom handled it

The concrete was already poured where the deck piers needed to go.

Rather than turn the schedule conflict into a homeowner problem, Freedom adapted the footing installation to the newly poured patio.

01

Rework the footing sequence.

The deck team identified the pier locations after the separate patio work had moved ahead.

02

Open the new slab only where needed.

Freedom cut into the concrete pad at the pier locations and poured the deck piers through it.

03

Finish the transitions cleanly.

The concrete work around the new piers was finished so the completed patio and deck read as one coordinated space.

04

Keep the homeowner out of the dispute.

Freedom absorbed the added work instead of charging the customer extra for the schedule-driven adaptation.

The finished direction

A complete Brown Oak deck that looks planned—not patched around.

TimberTech Brown Oak composite decking provides the warm field color. Black composite railing with aluminum spindles frames the deck and stairs.

The finished pier locations integrate with the patio below, preserving both projects without leaving the homeowner to solve the trade coordination alone.

★★★★★

“Sales rep, Robert, is such a blessing and took his time explaining the entire process from start to the final walkthrough. His gentle and kind demeanor was just right for me. He wasn’t pushy and genuinely cared about my concerns and he answered all my questions. Additionally, Ally kept me updated on the entire process from the permit approval to the final walkthrough inspection timeline. (Thank you, Ally, for putting up with, and responding to, my gazillion questions!)”
