Side-by-side planning

There is no universally “best” board.

The right choice depends on how long you expect to own the home, how much surface maintenance you want, the appearance you prefer, and where you want the project budget to go.

Straight answers about deck materials

Which decking material does Freedom recommend most often?

For composite projects, Freedom quotes four-sided-capped TimberTech lines. Pressure-Treated CedarTone can be a strong practical choice when initial investment or a shorter ownership horizon matters more.

Is Pressure-Treated CedarTone the same as cedar?

No. It is pressure-treated, structurally rated lumber with color pigment infused during treatment. It begins with a warmer cedar-toned look but remains pressure-treated wood.

Does composite decking require no maintenance?

No material is maintenance-free. Composite eliminates routine staining and sealing, but it still needs normal cleaning and care. The framing, drainage, fasteners, and surrounding structure also matter.

Can Freedom quote Advanced PVC?

Yes, when the project or homeowner priorities justify it. Advanced PVC is available by request, but it is not the automatic starting point in a standard Freedom estimate.
